Aug 3 2008, 5:51 PM EDT The package is HIV, which becomes AIDS. According to the CDC in Atlanta, there are 56,000 new cases of HIV each year in America. That's a few unlucky people and roughly 55,000+ people who could've avoided it altogether by simply using a condom. (or avoiding sex -- I use a condom myself; although lately...) The CDC also claims that roughly 25% of those carrying HIV don't even know it because they are too scared to get tested, which is another reason why it gets spread so easily. Finally, the CDC's stats show that black men & women are 7 times more likely to get HIV. This has generally been attributed to cultural attitudes towards getting tested and wearing condoms. Kells is trying to send a serious message here: be careful. You can't know for sure who your partner's been with, so be safe. Condoms have been proven to work very well, over & over again. They don't feel as good as naked but they feel better than your own hand...! 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |
